Maxine’s May Round-Up: A Celeb Podcast 🎤, BBC London Menopause Talk♀, Women In Marketing 💪 + Boots Launch Lunch 🎉

Hello my lovely Absoluters, I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the sunny weather! I LOVE this time of year – the longer days allow me to do more of what I enjoy most – being outdoors. We’re now fully into the summer season and have so much exciting stuff coming up! 

Just like every month at Absolute Collagen, May was filled with fun, laughter and inspiring chats with some VERY inspirational women. I love how we’re only just approaching the half-way mark of 2025, and we’ve already accomplished so much! Let me fill-you in on what we got up to in May…

Katherine Ryan’s Podcast 🎤

That’s right – we’re working with TV presenter and comedienne, Katherine Ryan! We’re now proud sponsors of the podcast, ‘What’s My Age Again?’ where Katherine talks all things ageing with a whole host of celebs who reveal if their biological age matches their ACTUAL age. With plenty of laughs along the way, it’s a real feel-good listen and celebrates everything AC stands for: ageing with confidence and authenticity. Katherine’s natural wit, charm and candid approach to ageing felt like a great fit for us as a business, and it’s really brought the topic of ‘looking’ vs ‘feeling’ your age to the forefront. I’m so excited to continue this collaboration with Katherine – watch this space as her esteemed list of weekly guests is hotting up.

What a lovely day this was! I thoroughly enjoyed joining BBC London for an important conversation about how we as women are unstoppable at any age – hence my ‘60 Things Before I’m 60’ challenge – which we also chatted about. As always, it was such a joy catching up with the fabulous Shay. The conversation flowed so thoughtfully and effortlessly, thanks to her brilliant questions and natural ability to really listen. I absolutely loved sharing the things I’ve already achieved on my ’60 Things Before I’m 60′ bucket-list, and what other exciting things I have coming up. I truly hope that sharing my own experiences will help inspire women to embrace each day and feel empowered to do the same.

BRUMWIM – Women in Marketing Event  💪

There’s something so special about celebrating local female talent, and let me tell you – Birmingham has it in abundance! Being asked to be a part of this event was such an incredible feeling. I was truly honoured to be invited to talk at this wonderful event at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery celebrating Birmingham-based, female-founded businesses. The event itself was proudly sponsored by female-owned, Next Level Recruitment, so it felt like Girl Power was out in full force! I always feel so inspired listening to other women share their stories of how far they’ve come. There’s something that we all have in common: passion. A passion inspired by life experience. I had the BEST day and can’t wait for the next one!

Boots Launch Celebration Lunch at HQ 🎉

Yes – we’re now OFFICIALLY available on the High Street! As you might’ve seen from our catch up last month, you can now shop us in Boots! This is such a huge milestone for Absolute Collagen and has been in the making for some time. I can’t even begin to explain how proud I am of the growth, the hard work and the commitment that has made this happen for us. This has truly been a whole company effort and it’s such a pinch-me moment. To celebrate the huge success of our Boots launch and to thank the team for all their truly amazing hard work in the process, we celebrated with fun, games (involving some yellow wellington BOOTS) lots of laughs and a delicious lunch in the office. It felt like the perfect way to mark the occasion and to get the team together and show my appreciation for all their hard work.
