Whether you’re just about to take the first step of your Absoluter journey or you’re thinking of adding more vitamins to your existing routine, it’s important to think about how your different supplements might interact.

Well, the good news is that, in most cases, you can take collagen with other vitamins. However, as with any type of supplement, it’s always worth double-checking with your GP – especially if you’re managing a health condition, taking prescription medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you want to dive deeper into the details about taking collagen with other vitamins, continue reading, below.

Why should I take collagen supplements?

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, acting like scaffolding for your skin, joints, hair, nails and so much more.

The problem is that, as we age, our natural collagen production begins to slow down. This can lead to visible signs of ageing, like fine lines and wrinkles, or changes to skin texture and elasticity.

That’s where we come in. Our award-winning marine collagen supplements are designed to support your body’s natural collagen production, helping you feel your absolute best from the inside out.

Don’t just take our word for it; our products have been backed by the largest and most robust clinical trial of collagen supplements in the UK. Not only did 100% of participants see an improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but 90% said their skin felt restored and refreshed.

And that’s only after 12 weeks of taking our supplements. Think of the results you could achieve going for even longer and making that collagen commitment!

What vitamins should I be taking (if any)?

Let’s get this out of the way early doors: the best way to get all your essential vitamins is by eating a healthy, balanced diet.

However, we know that life isn’t always perfect. There are so many things that can get in the way of eating exactly the right amount of protein or getting enough fibre. In those times, you can use a helping hand.

We’ve listed some of the most popular vitamins people take, as well as what they’re typically used for:

Vitamin D: Supports immune health, bones, and mood. This is especially important in the darker winter months when you aren’t getting enough vitamin D from the sun.

Iron: Essential for red blood cell production and energy. Often recommended for those with anaemia or during menstruation.

Vitamin C: Helps support immunity and skin health. It also plays a key role in collagen synthesis, which is why we include it in every Absolute Collagen sachet*!

Vitamin B12: Important for energy levels and nervous system support, particularly for those following a vegan or vegetarian diet.

Calcium: Supports strong bones and teeth, often taken in conjunction with vitamin D.

Before taking any of the listed vitamins or supplements above, please remember to talk to your GP or a registered nutritionist first. They can help you better understand which vitamins are the best fit for you, helping you make a more informed decision.

*Each sachet of Absolute Collagen contains 60 mg of Vitamin C, which is 75% of your daily Nutrient Reference Value. Enjoy a daily dose of Absolute Collagen as part of a balanced, healthy diet and active lifestyle.

So, can you take collagen with other vitamins?

In general, yes – you can take collagen with other vitamins. Collagen is simply a protein, made up of amino acids that your body already recognises and uses. That means it doesn’t typically interfere with other nutrients, including most vitamin supplements.

There are even some cases where collagen and other vitamins can work really well together. For example, vitamin C can actually encourage collagen synthesis, which makes your supplements that much more effective.

Collagen and vitamin D is another great potential pairing. The collagen acts as that scaffolding for your structural tissue, while vitamin D helps to support bone density and immune health.

Just remember: always read the label (of both collagen and vitamins) and speak to your GP if you’re unsure. Some vitamins may contain added ingredients that interact with each other, or you may have specific needs based on your unique medical history.

Can I take collagen and multivitamins together?

Multivitamins are a popular way to top up your daily intake of essential vitamins and minerals in one convenient tablet. They can include a wide range of nutrients – from vitamin A to zinc – and are often recommended for people with busy lives or specific dietary needs.

So, can you take collagen and multivitamins together? In most cases, yes. There’s no reason why the amino acids in collagen would negatively interact with the vitamins in a standard multivitamin. However, if your multivitamin is particularly high in protein or includes other active ingredients, it’s worth speaking to your GP first.

Here at Absolute Collagen, we offer both ready-to-drink liquid collagen and neutral-flavoured collagen powder – depending on which suits your lifestyle best. Just browse our marine collagen supplements collection to find your perfect match.
